Default Timing issue

Hi everyone. I have used the forum search but can't find nothing on this.
I am changing the timing chain and gears on my 99 SL 1.9 sohc.
I can see the timing mark on the crankshaft gear and the block. I see the mark on the camshaft but I don't see the mark on the cylinder head to line up the cam gear.
Any one know if there is a mark on the head or even if someone can just tell me if the cam mark points up or down.
My haynes manual shows the dohc setup but not the single so I guess I may have the wrong book.
At a stand still until I can find out.

Thanks for any help.

1. Insure timing mark and keyway are aligned with split line of main bearing cap. Install camshaft sprocket with letters FR facing away from cylinder head.
2. Rotated camshaft until 3/16 drill bit can be inserted through pin hole and into cylinder head
Rotate crankshaft counter clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine until timing marks at crank shaft sprocket are aligned.
Instal timing chain, aligning Silver – Plated chain links with marks on sprockets.
Crank Shaft will be aligned when at 12:00 position. Camshaft when pinned will have a timing mark at TDC
