tighten serpentine belt

How do you tighten the serpentine belt located on a 1999 Saturn? tnx..newbie here..

A 99 Saturn? If you are not sure, I would follow Kurts suggestion, and replace the belt and tensioner both. Granted, it will cost a bit more, but better than having a used belt fail while you are on the road somewhere. If you really feel frugal, put the old belt in a ziploc bag, and stow it with your road repair kit ...

the saturn tensioners go bad alll the time. ive done one on all 3 of the saturns i had... maybe its my luck haha

Saturn tensioners don''t go bad all the time, I''ve never replaced one on any of the 15 Saturns I''ve had.
