Reset MIL light?

I have a 1996 Saturn SL2. No codes are pending but MIL light stays on. Disconnecting the battery didn't work. How can I turn off the MIL light?

"MIL Light" ?? Excuse me, but it's Easter Sunday, and I musta ate too much rich food -- my mind is not firing on all cylinders, but I don't recognize the term "MIL Light"

MIL: Malfunction Indicator Lamp a term hardly used by anyone in North America. Not evan in Colts Neck

Enough drive cycles without the fault being present will also do the trick.
Otherwise use a scan tool
