Default Need Help !!!

Hello, I'm requesting this info for my Mom. She owns a 2006 ION and has been have a starting issue for the past two years which has not been resolved. Looking for any help or suggestions !

It's an intermittent starting problem which the service center has not been able to fix. To the point, most of the time it starts up normally but once in awhile turn the ignition and nothing happens. They have replaced the battery and the starter, she also told me they did something with the gas cap. But this is still going on and has left her stranded. sometimes she will just wait 15 minutes go back out to the car and it starts up perfectly. It seems to be more frequent when the weather is cold so I'm guessing some relay or contact. Can anyone out there help ?? Thanks in advance !!! She will be driving up for a visit next month and I would really like to take a look and get this fixed if possible.

This subject has been beaten to death on every Saturn Forum you can find .... Replace the ignition. The search engine is your friend.

Thanks for your fast reply ! Just to clarify, you are referring to the key ignition switch. Since the car will not crank over. Wondering why the dealership did not suggest that if it's that common of a problem. They have only looked at it a half a dozen times ! I'll let you know if this fixes it. Thanks again !!

I recently bought a new ignition barrel at Mercedes for a 1985 190E. I paid 27.50 for the lock and it comes with a key. I'm just comparing the price that GM wants for there ignition barrel. To be fair most dealership parts are real pricey at Mercedes.
