well if you jumped it and it started and ran but when you turned it off and tried it right away again then it will be your battery ans the alt keep it running as you only need a battery to start it put a different battery in it and see what it does

 

and you can just see if you got batter voltage and see if it has any that would be my first go

just changed the battery over and started straight away.. so dose that mean the alt is gone ??

 

because when i disconnect the battery with the engine on it shuts down :S..

 

I'd replace the alternator - course, you can pull it, and take it to AutoZone (or similar), and they'll test it to prove it's bad ....

 

i would say yes but go and get it tested like OceanArcher said and they will say if it bad or good
