Help.. Saturn-SL1-2002-Auto-Valve Cover.

Need a bit of help.. i have just changed the valve cover gasket on my mates car and let it stand for about 2 an half hours.. he drove it about 3miles and now it is stuck on my drive not starting.. when i put the key in and turn it all i hear now is a clicking noise coming from the left side of the engine..

i took the old seal off and cleaned it all off before i put the sealant on, i changed the two rubber seals that are where you screw the cover down.. ive checked his oil and that is full.. NOT over filled

Any Ideas :S...

chevy338 03-02-2011 09:27 PM

did it die or did you turn it off

Myles1089 03-02-2011 09:30 PM

yea he turned it off.. then 10mins later it didn't start.. ive just noticed the oil light is on and in the book it says low oil pressure and the battery light is staying on as well

Well, with the engine not running, your oil pressure will be zero, and the oil light will be illuminated. Also, if the key is in the ON position and the engine is not running, the battery light will also illuminate. Sounds like you may have a loose connection on the main battery cables, or even possibly a defective cable. Usually, the positive cable fails first.

that and get a test light and check all your fuses you might have blown one

right just cleaned off the battery terminals and jumped started it then left it running for about 10mins.. soon as i turned it off and back on it didn't start.. could it be the alternator belt or the alternator

Get it jump started again, and measure the voltage across the battery with the engine at about 1000 rpm. Meter should read about 14.6 VDC.
