Default Gear shift

I have an 08' saturn astra xe. I thought my battery was dead and called for a jump. Well, the tech said it's not the battery it's my automatic gear selector. When I park it won't start. Bit when he put it in neutral it started. I called gm to see if their was a recall and there isn't one. Is this expensive to fix?

sounds like a sensor is wither our of alignment/adjustment or defective.

You can search the web for technical service bulletins (TSB) yourself on the net. They're internal manufacturer's documents that are distributed to techs or kept on file. If you come in with a problem matching a ts, they are supposed to follow whatever it says to do--sometimes a free fix, sometimes not

Let us know what you find and how it turns out.

Sounds like it may be the Neutral Safety Switch. Call dealer for pricing.

You'll fiNd not many people bought an ASTRA. That is the reason they were sold one year in the U.S. Any help you can get is going to be to your advantage.
