I just got a 1995 SL1 with manual transmission and 88,000 miles. Problem is it does not run. I turn the key and nothing happens. I have power the battery is fully charged. I tried to compression start it and when I took my foot off the clutch the car just skided to a stop. Could it be a siezed motor? or could a bad starter do this? or ?

Thanks

Fred

Can you crank the engine by hand?
Sounds like the motor cannot turn -- and that's not good.

SES light on? Codes?

What is history of vehicle?

the history is that the owner had started it one morning and drove about 100 ft. and it died and would not restart. It has been sitting for about 6 months. Also the owner told me that it leaks oil so he was adding oil on a regular basis. I have not tried to crank the engine by hand. What would be a easy way to do it? The check engine light comes on. I don't have a code reader.

Got it running. Turned out to be just a dead starter.
