Default Clutch question

The bearing on my 99 seems to be going bad. What is an average price to replace the clutch? Is it something I can do myself? I have replaced them in rear wheel drive cars but not in front wheel drive. Seems like a big problem. Thanks for any help.

Get the car high enough then drop the engine and trans out the bottom on the cradle. Can also come out the top.

I was afraid it wouldn't be easy. I will nurse it along until the weather is a bit better. I have to fix everything outside.
Thanks for the reply.

While I am at it, what else should I be changing? The car has 177k on it.

Unless you find something else that needs it, I'd just replace the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Take a good look at the flywheel and make sure it's not cracked or burned. If it is, you may be able to get it turned at your local machine shop.

Drop the engine and trans in one piece attached to the cradle.

Thanks for the replies. As soon as the weather gets a little better I will give it a try. I am nursing it along each day.
