1999 SL1 Threw P0351 and 352 changed coil and ICM
My aunt bought a 99 SL1 ran and drove fine needed a valve cover gasket and some other matinece but nothing serious. one morning the starter wasnt cranking so we gave it a smack and it cranked again, then it wouldnt start. checked OBD2 and it threw p0351 and 352 and from what we read thats usually the coils so we changed those. still nothing i found a previous issue on another forum but it was an 02 SL2. i did some of the tests that made sense and we have power to the icm and the crank pos sensor read 824ohms within spec. we just still dont have spark and im at a loss
Thanks in advance

If CKP is functioning/ signal is getting to PCM, you will have fuel and spark. If it is not functioning properly, you will have neither. Do you have a fuel to the injectors? After a few cranks, pull a spark plug. Is it wet with fuel?
The two codes together would indicate issues with the ignition circuits on cylinder 1 and cylinder 2. Since one coil fires one and four at the same time, and the other fires two and three at the same time, it's unlikely that both coils would fail simultaneously, though it is possible if they are taken out by something else.
Running stock OEM plugs?
The stock NGK 's need to be changed every three years, 36,000 mi as they are the old-fashioned but trustworthy carbon plugs. Nothing special, not iridium, Platinum, ..

I agree with Gary. If you tapped the starter and it worked, odds are that either it or the cables are faulty. You should really check the cables for corrosion too. The green goblins of corrosion will sure as hell keep one from cranking.

- I have tach while cranking
- theres fuel on the plugs after cranking
- changed the old plugs they were .06 so needed changing
- also changed the fuel filter incase it was clogged

If the fuel filter were plugged you wouldn't have wet plugs. We have a crank signal so you need to check the ICM. Here's info.
