Default 02 SC1 info search questions

New to Saturn, so have a couple issues to address on gf's SC1, so just need some info on where to start on the problems and I'll search from there within the forum. I'm going to do my best to describe the issue, so please be patient 😂.
First issue is with the ignition. Has long since had an issue with the ignition, but has sat up for nearly a year, hence not addressing it sooner. Prior to parking it, the ignition seemed "worn out", whereas, you'd have to jiggle the key to get ignition to release to turn the key to crank. No real issue. So she moved in with me, and her ignition key got misplaced in the move. We had Chevy cut one by the vin. Works fine, except bc it's new and not worn, it's not allowing the ignition to turn off fully. Only turns back to acc mode. My question is, when ordering the ignition, do I have to replace anything else at the same time, security pieces, etc? I can find a video on the how to, just making sure I have everything before starting.
Second issue is the overall running of the vehicle. Vehicle will crank fine, but has a low idle when in gear, say at a stop light, to the point where the battery light flashed a couple times. Sounds and drives like the cats are clogged, but vehicle will get up to speed, just slower, so I'm replacing the O2 sensors, and plugs (wires are in good shape). Air filter is good and car will be getting an oil change tomorrow. I'm also going to try to replace the fuel filter tomorrow as well. Is there anything else I should check? My 84 has a lot of extra smog equipment I have to check, so just seeing if I have everything covered for a full tune up (will be cleaning throttle body and MAF) on this car.
Any help, info, or knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rock auto sells the key portion of the ignition, you assemble it to fit your key. They also sell the electric part of the switch. 15841209 Is the GM part number for the key portion of the switch.
See how the car runs with a new fuel filter before worrying about the exhaust.

I'm doing the exhaust bc while asking her questions trying to pinpoint something, she mentioned that she had the codes ran at some point and they mentioned the sensor. And it can't hurt. If I could find a cheaply priced header, I'd just straight pipe it to the muffler lol. We don't have emissions down here. But thank you for the ignition info. I'm having to disconnect the terminal currently, which is fine bc I'm not taking it out on the road. Just a hassle.

Auto or 5spd?
Mileage?

OEM NGK Plugs.
NGK 7755 Also known as GM AC Delco BKR4ESA11. 0.040
$1.50 each.
I'll cash app the money to you to use them
So many other problems with other brands, styles, shapes, materials, colors, attitudes....

O2 Sensors:

Get the codes read and post here.
Check the wiring carefully. A critter may have chewed through it while it was sitting, etc.

If you do change them, use the Denso sensors ONLY. The OEM AC Delco is actually a Denso in an AC Delco box for $12 more. RockAuto has them. They list several Denso sensors.

Upstream. You want the Denso equiv of GM 21022987 which is DENSO 2341022.

Wait on downstream but get equiv of GM 21024460 which is DENSO 2344066.

Bosch O2s in particular are very sluggish to respond in these vehicles and actually make the problem worse.

Do not use anti-seize on the threads.

After you clear the codes it may take a chunk of miles to decide if the O2 sensor information indicates proper emissions control IE whether or not the light will come back on. Especially if you have a p0420 catalyst below efficiency threshold mixed in because the sensors are not functioning or reading properly. That code seems to indicate your cat is wasted, but that's usually not the case. The issue is the O2 sensors. But I'm pretty sure the calculation for catalyst efficiency requires 50 miles.

Any other codes after O2 replacement? Please post before running out and buying parts.
There are quite a few behaviors on S cars that throw codes that indirectly indicate issues elsewhere.

Please post the codes not the descriptions of the codes.
