Recently my car has been driving and starting weird. It started about 3 days ago when it was just idling high around about 2000 rpm then it would drop to about 500 then back up to 2000. After about 20 min of driving it would still idle about 2000 but drop to 1000 and stay there which is around normal idle.Also while driving down the road it seems to stall out but being a 5-speed it picks back up and still goes. Once i park the car and it sits for about 30 min i have hard start up and i have to hold the gas to the floor and try to crank it. After it starts up finally it tries to go dead and sputters to a stop.[img]smileys/smiley7.gif[/img] Defiantly need help. Thanks

 

RPM oscillations and stalling sound like a possible EGR sticking problem -- have you ever pulled the egr valve and cleaned it?

High idle/ hard hot starting sounds like possible ECTS issue (Engine coolant temp sensor). What year is your Satty? And how many miles?

High idle may also be due to a vacuum leak -- spray some throttle body cleaner around the intake manifold and throttle body -- if it affects the engine (stalls), you've found the leak.
