I drive a 93 SL2 and it is making2 noises that are really bothering me. the first noise is a claking noise that is really loud inside the car and the second is a sort of grinding/scraping noise when I'm Idoling and gets gradually louder as I accelerate. I already know my wheel bearings are worrn and contribute to the grinding but it doesn't explain it when I'm idoling. If anyone can explain this to me it would really ease my mind Edited by: Tman_417

As old as the car is the timing chain may have slackened too much. One of the noises most likely have to do withmotor mounts. Look closely at all the mounts as they do wear out.
