Default crank gears

has anyone replaced the drive gears on the crankshaft which the outer one turns the timing chain and the inner one turns the water pump chain I stripped the teeth on the water pump one and can't get it off

It will pull off, you may have to use a puller. I have an outer gear stuck on a junk crank but the key has been bent by the crank pulley. If your water pump did not seize check your balance shafts closely, you may have a bad bearing deep in the block.

still no luck so I took a torch to the gear and made a big mess of it,took all parts off and replaced both gears and that gizmo thing that keeps tension on the timing chain. Everything else turned smoothly and very easy so maybe I was lucky, time will tell but right now this thing is quieter than it has been in a long time and I will watch it closely for problems.

They are very quiet when the chains are good. Glad you got it back together.

I myself cannot believe I do not have a good picture of the 69 Dart that I drove for 29 years and 270k miles only a picture of the broken beast when I first bought it
