hey im new to saturns, ive worked on dodge, mitsu, and toyota since ive been a mechanic. now i pulled a code form my saturn sayin sumthin wrong with camshaft position sensor. now thats fine and dandy, but i cant find a store that carries the part, most of the stores have even said that they dont have tha part listed. now my question is, does the part go by a differant name or are the parts store monkeys stupid, any info on this will be greatful.

Saturns dont have a camshaft postion sensor because the ignition module uses capacitive pickup plates located under the 1/4 coil pack to determine the polarity sequence and voltage amplitude of the cylinder 1/4 secondary ignition. The PCM supplies 5 volts on the signal line and expects to see the cylinder #4 signal wire go low after every 14 crankshaft pulses (2 revolutions). This is used to determine the position of the camshaft. Also when referring to a CPS in a Saturn, its the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

And if your getting a P0341 its unlikely it needs a new 1/4 coil pack. Check for corrosion on the terminals at the coil, fouled spark plugs, bad wires or oil in the spark plug well #4. 99% of the time, its one of those four things.

need to remember Saturn has been out of business for years so finding parts is getting more difficult cause Saturn doesn't make them any more
