Default Sound system on my last Saturn SL

On my last Saturn I installed a nice sound system using the standard radio and a satellite radio. What I did is install 2 - 10 inch speakers in the back deck and right between them I bolted an amplifier under the Deck so it was hard to see and did not get in the way at all from using the cargo area. Almost invisible setup..... the regular sound system fed into the amp in the back and drove the two 10 inch speakers. then I had a couple wires go down to two Bass thumpers I bolted to the floor under each front seat. So with the stock radio using the fader from front to rear I could get Awesome sound all around. A couple of small tweeters in the back corners helped it out also. then I put a pair of self adhesive tweeters on the dash. So it was an easy install because I did not have to get into the dash, only work was under the back deck. I did put some spacer between the 10 inch speakers and the deck so cone did not hit the deck. the stock speaker cut out were plenty big for the 10 inchers to send sound out.

no silly -- it's fine

just messin w ya -- we rag on each other from time to time.
ALL IN GOOD FUN.

my post was what I would have been saying if I had been listening to tunes in your car.

If I had a 10" subwoofer mounted under my seat, I'd probably pee myself to the beat.....and afterwards be deaf

Great, I'm all for that. Yeah it can get pretty loud but usually listen to something mellow with good sound.

I remember how I had mine. With the Sony head unit (I forget each one) and 6.5" Polk 3 ways up front and 2 6.5 Linwood's in the rear I could dial it in and have it perfect. 12" kicker L7 @ 600 watts in the trunk. Could turn it to Max with just about any song and not garble it out (although at that point the trunk rattled so much it killed it with the windows open while stopped, driving didn't matter I jammed hard) I'm still trying to get my truck to sound that perfect, and haven't been in another car that sounded that good (be it my friends or my moms). I messed up when I traded my brother for his alpine unit, lost all tuneability and garbled every song when it got too loud.

I also had a pretty great audio setup in the s series I had... JVC head unit(KD-S79BT), and four 6.5 inch Pioneer 2-ways(TS-675M)... Even cranked up seriously loud, it was clear... Now, I'm living with the stock audio in my Chevy...
