Default Door lock glitch revealed

Today I figured something out with my door locks, many times I would push the door lock button and the drivers door lock would open right back up. So I had to lock it manually to make it stay locked. I figured out that there is a sensor on the ignition key tumbler so that if you have the key in the ignition then it re-opens the drivers door when you push the lock button. it's a feature that prevents you from locking your keys in the car. However the ignition key tumbler is worn on my car I can pull out the key in any position even with engine running etc. So I discovered when I leave the car sometimes I don't turn the lock all the way to the off position as I pull the key out. So now the tumbler is a little ways off of the "off detent position" and the computer thinks the key is still in it even though I pulled it out. then when pushing the door lock button the drivers door unlocks itself again in an instant and I have to push it down manually. So Today I tried putting the key back in the ignition and making sure it was turned all the way to the off position until it snapped, pulled the key out and then tried the door lock button again and it stayed locked. Another Saturn mystery solved.

Congratulations. Now, why don't you replace the switch? You can buy one at most auto parts stores.
