These "S" car guys are serious about using genuine GM parts. I used Cloyes timing components in my L61 repair and they even had GM parts numbers cast into the parts.

If there's one part you don't cheap out on on an S car, it the ECTS. Temp vs resistance curve is critical to proper operation, as the coolant temp factors into many calculations.

People buy autozone. People buy Advance.
Some of them never have an issue. The temp vs resistance is close enough to get by.

Others overheat because it's wrong. Guess when you find that out? When you see white smoke.

Others have no start conditions because it's wrong. They wear out their starters costing them $100 they never had to spend.

I'm stopping here to avoid another pointless rant. I think the previous one had a point. I'll have to go back n check.

Sorry for derailing your thread, mottthehoople.

All the young dudes are even telling you GM.....
