It seems to be a touch less noisy in driving. No odd sounds from starting /stopping. I still have clunk when hitting curb at driveway. I think a new LCA might help.
|
So, it is better than before. Good news.
|
Yeah, I'd suspect something in the suspension or maybe motor mounts if you're hearing clunking when driving over curbs!

I put in cheap new struts 4 yrs ago. No change in ride. I kept old struts. I considered putting old struts back in. Haha. I think Oem stuff is better then cheap Chinese crap. I got a set of new struts last yr for $20. On another car. Also no change in ride. Folks sell stuff for very little money these days. I have found completely blown strut cartridges on some cars. Just like tire store good/bad shock display.

Bought new or secondhand?

Brand new complete struts. Strut/spring/top hat. I had to remove pinion nut on output flange to install t-case and realized the “used” case also had a loose nut. Perhaps they had to remove flange to get it out like me. I removed my old case and torqued the nut to 84lbs per manual and I think it does make a “bit” more noise while turning then the new used one does. I have lots of free time so I do stuff that might seem labor intensive.

I replaced driver side trans mount under fuse block on prior car. Very hard to reach hidden bolts. Zero change in ride noises. So I sold car. Still waiting on dup title for current car. Someday I might sell it.

Got an 08 torrent to do heads. $400. Has new battery, alternator, radiator, 1 yr old tires. Fwd. no transfer case. Ha.
