Default Towing issue with 06 Vue

I started hearing a squealing noise recently and discovered that it was coming from the rear drive shaft.(I have AWD). I removed the drive shaft and the noise stopped and I’m fine with just FWD but am wondering whether it affects the towing function. I tow behind my motor home. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have 170K miles on my Vue and it still looks and runs great but I don’t want to spend the money for a new drive shaft.
Thanks!
Dave

I am not sure about any issues running it without the driveshaft. However the squeek is probably just the center support bearing. I would ask a driveline shop about a price to repair your driveshaft. Almost all medium sized cities have a shop that specializes in drivelines. There are two within 50 miles of me one North and one South.

Default Rear driveshaft making squeezing noises on 06 Vue

Thanks for the input. I’ll check into repairing the driveshaft. My mechanic has been trying to find a used one but only wants to get it from a vendor that will let me return it if it’s not good. So far no luck with that.
The car drives fine without the rear driveshaft but I’d like to have AWD. Your probably aware that the 06 and 07 Vue have a Honda engine and drivetrain if that makes any difference.
