Default Towing with 2006 Vue V6 AWD

I am moving to South Dakota from Oregon and will be towing a small enclosed U-Haul trailer with my Vue. My Vue is in good mechanical shape, has 150K, new tires, new transmission fluid and an oil change. I'll be using I 90 for the move. Any suggestions or advise would be great. Thanks!

Have a safe trip and take it easy on the hills. You don’t want to let the transmission hunt between gears. If you. Even on the flat if you find the transmission cannot decide on a gear you need to slow down or speed up so it stays in one gear. I find that cruise control aggravates this condition when towing with my Lincoln. I usually tow with my truck and I have manual control over every gear in that truck. My truck has an automatic transmission and a shifter position for each gear.
