Default Tire touching strut on vue

I have a 2005 Saturn Vue. Both my front tires were touching the bottom of the struts causing tires to rub and wear down. I replaced both struts, sway bar links and the spindle on one side due to a bearing seizing. Control arms look good but not sure if maybe they’re both bent. Could bad control arms or ball joints cause this? And what’s the chances of both going out at the same time? Any ideas what else it could be?

Did the vehicle recently sustain front end damage in an accident or other incident?

Did someone borrow it and take it off a few ramp jumps? That is absolutely bizarre.

Is the subframe rusted out and sagging across the center of the vehicle?

Are your coil springs sagging/ compressed? Just like putting in actual lowering springs, it changes the geometry of the suspension. Seems like you effectively have a large camber offset from what it should be

Have you replaced the wheels recently? Something with less of an offset than original spec, could push the strut closer to the tire.

I would think an alignment shop would have flagged that....

OP says he swapped the struts, well I wonder is it possible that the replacement struts had incorrect springs installed on them?

Ordinarily I would say that's a possibility, but he had this issue before he switched struts. Would be a mighty big coincidence if the new struts were installed with the wrong springs. OP did also not indicate if he used a quick struts with new springs or just the struts. From what was posted I assume just the struts.

Odds are that the OP isn't going to come back.
