Swapping 2.2 for 3.5
 

Hey guys,
I have a 2004 Saturn Vue AWD that has a 2.2. I have located a 2006 AWD Vue with a 3.5. I would like to swap them but not too sure if the two are completely compatible and what issues I may run in to. If you all have had experience or even a link to a break down. I am pretty sure I will have to swap the ECM, PCM and the like. I would just use the 2006 but it has major rust issues and not safe

Off the top of my head you may also need to flash the BCM to match the options on the 2.2.

Obv difference in exhaust setup will require some reconfig. I would postulate that the exhaust flow of a v6 may not be happy though the system a 2.2.

If you take the engine, save yourself a bunch of trouble and bring the transmission along. I believe it is different from the 2.2 transmission, plus you will already have the correct TCM.

No clue about the rest.

That would be like swapping an L200 into a L300. The steel is the same but every wire and mechanical piece is different. Way more work than it is worth unless you don’t have a job.
