Angry No start condition if gas gauge does not read.

2004 Vue 3.5 will not start if gas gauge does not read. If gas gauge comes up, car will start. I was told the connector with the power for gauge and fuel pump was the culprit. I had the wiring harness to the tank swapped with a known good one, and the problem is still
there. Car can sit for a day and will maybe start. Any ideas?

Was your fuel pump/sending unit confirmed to be good?

I think DD means was it verified fully functional at all times regardless of the gage reading?

As I stated, all works well if the gas gage comes up at start. Then the car runs perfectly. I suspect a common power issue with the fuel pump and the gage reading. I just dont know where to look.

So then the answer to DDs question is no.

Only Vue post I came across where somebody bothered to actually post the resolution. This may be your issue or it may not. There are quite a few vue 2003-2004 Vue no gas gauge no start posts floating around, so it is not uncommon.

Do not try to use the S Series versions of these posts for troubleshooting, as depending on the year, they may or may not have body control modules.

Oh, the link...

Derf,

Can you post the solution link again on my thread? The link didn't work for me here.
