Default Is my Manual Trans Failing? Knocking noise/link to video

Hello, I had just started accelerating from a stop earlier today (in my 04 Vue 2.2 Manual) when I heard a clunk and the car jerked a little. After that it continues to drive and shift smoothly but with the addition of a repetitive clunking noise whenever the car is coasting (whether the clutch is in or out). It speeds up and slows down with the speed of the car.

I jacked up each side, put the car in neutral and spun each wheel. The video shows the sound I get when I spin the wheels. Does this sound like a failure in the transmission? Link to video is below. Please try to disregard the sound of a dust shield rubbing up against my warped brake disk. Thank you!

Does it make that noise on both sides?

Hello, yes it does. I jacked up both sides individually and spun each wheel, and the sound is the same.

I purchased a new another car yesterday but I'm going to see if I can find a transmission for this and maybe get it back on the road soon. With 208k miles though I'm not sure it's worth it.

Yes, it sounds like a new transmission would be the solution. It is up to you if it is worth the cost of repairs.

IF you replace the transmission, you might as well go ahead and put in a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. I'd take a good look at the flywheel too and if it's scored or burned, replace it too. That way it'll all be new and you can get a long time use out of again.
