Default Installing new radio

This is my first attempt at self-installation.My 05 Vue had an aftermarket radio (pioneer) installed when I bought it, but it's finally kicked the bucket and we've decided to upgrade to a DVD unit (AVH-X3500 BHS). The wiring diagrams are almost identical between the old radio and the new purchase (with the exception of the hand brake switch for DVD playback) so it should be an easy switch.I have the appropriate metra kit to install a double din in my car, the pioneer microphone to use the hands-free calling function and a micro-bypass to do away with the pesky hand-brake hassel. Is there anything I'm forgetting before I take the dash apart?

I'm not familiar with the unit you mention -- sorry.

Sorry man I don't mess with after market radio's at all. Did when I was a kid, now I just rather have gear in my cars that I don't have to replace every few years. Oh and I like stuff in my cars that looks like it belongs and thiefs don't want.

Well unit went in just fine, and the Metra install kit fit perfectly..........FYI, wiring is extremely difficult when it's 10 degrees.

I would have had the vehicle running and the heat on if it were me. I'm just saying.

I guess I'm just paranoid about having the car running while I'm working on it.......
