Default Fuel gague / Tank problem?

Latest small problem= All of a sudden -in wet weather & driving a few hours - the fuel gague shows =EMPTY!! With known fuel in tank. Has always been good - just suddenly happened!I would like to know how to test the complete fuel gague system- dash gague & fuel tank senders -there are 2 i believe in a series. Car is a vue 2003 with automatic tranny & all wheel drive. Anyone heve this problem before??

Follow the link in this sticky to see if there is an online manual for your https://www.saturnforum.com/forum/ge...uals-9471/year and engine. Unless you cross design generations, I would think the external contacts for the fuel pump sender would be in the same general location --meaning you could probably track them down w the closest to your year.

I would look for a broken wire at the sender or betw sender and gauge before ripping the dash apart. Or the float may have developed a hole and is no longer floating.

Default gague fix?

Evidently???? the wiring connector-?? Just behing the passenger seat -Tha exits the body there= has a connector. I was told. The rain effects that area @ connector! The gague now works as should !! That wiring also runs the all wheel drive to rear areas, along with fuel gague wiring. After drying out 1 day the problem is no more . I will seal that wiring area today- with some liquid neoprene sealer. Evidently on the vue's this has been a problem- yet not on every car!! Thans to all!!
