Default Front end shudders?

I put new strut assemblies in and new sway bar links but my front end feels the same. Clunks on bumps and sometimes has a shudder feeling. Like the front is wiggling. The subframe mounting points look ok. No rust holes in unibody. The control arm bushings look ok. I preyed on them with pry bar and deflection seemed ok. I checked each wheel bearing and no play. What’s next? New control arms?

Maybe it's warped brake rotors or a defective tire. Is is more noticeable when you put on the brakes? If not, what about your sway bar bushings? Did you check them?

Bushings are good. I replaced EPS motor on another rig to fix a rattle. I ended up only putting 1 of 3 bolts back where steering column attaches to motor. Haha. I fixed that and rattle is gone. I almost wanted to see if I have 3 bolts on vue. Changing EPS motor is quite a job. I removed steering wheel first to make access better. I do see quite a few vues and equinoxes in junkyard with eps motor gone.

Thanks for letting us know what fixed it. Sometimes we get in a hurry to get something done and forget things. We've ALL done that, I'm sure.

The shudder on vue is not fixed. The rattle on equinox is fixed. I hate it when I mention 2 cars when describing a problem on only one.

So there is a possibility that your issue is the electric power steering assist. How do these things drive with the fuse pulled? Other than extremely stiff, can they be driven? I don’t know how they sense the need for assist. I have had hydraulic steering systems fail in many different ways. Too much assist, not enough, to much in one direction, the list goes on. I am sure electric assist can also fail many ways.

I’d like to try new control arms. Since that replaces bushings and ball joints. Or, sell it. Ha
i have 2 equinoxes and the vue. Plans are to sell all 3.

Sounds like a wise plan to me. Especially on the Equinoxes. I had one that was a royal POS.

Vue and equinox have same suspension. For most part.
