The battery icon is coming on when I start the truck up in the morning when it is cold outside. I am wondering if this is only because it is cold outside and the battery needs a little time to charge up? Any info on this would help.

Well, a start on very cold mornings will take a lot out of a battery, and if the battery is more than three years old, it might be having problems maintaining a full charge. However, if the serpentine belt is worn, it could slip enough to where the alternator is not spinning at full speed. If that happens, you could get your light. A third possibility is that the alternator itself may be weak. Go to AutoZone (O rileys, Pepboys, or similar) and have them run a test on your charging system ...

I''m having the same issue, they ran a check on the battery and they said it was in good shape. This morning was 36 degrees and it came on and stayed on for about 3 minutes then it went off.

My husband unplugged the battery last night with the vue running and it stayed running, so we kind of figured out that it wasn''t the alternator.

I will try the autozone approach tonight after work, otherwise I have no clue what could be going on.
