Default 2009 Saturn Vue XR FWD 3.6l parts be used in a 2008 saturn vue xr 3.6l AWD

Before I get trolled hear me out. I have a 2008 saturn vue xr 3.6l AWD. I won this baby at auction unseen... yeah that was a bad idea to begin with. I knew it had transmission issues and payed a hefty sum of $300. O man I thought I had a deal here boyz.... but nope it was a false dream. As I replaced the transmission and got her moving again. She began flashing me and not in a good way. With what I call the Christmas tree of death. SO not being new to electrical issue, I begin to trouble shoot my issue, that turned into more issues and more. Good thing I'm bold already because some hack went in and cut and spliced every ground wire he cold find not realizing he had a BCM issue. Folks your module can and will ground out making you think your line grounds are bad. Please don't do this. I have seen it a 100 times by now but never have I seen such a determination of a person to hunt down ever ground and remount with self tappers every were. 2 weeks of rebuild electrical harnesses and removal of strange and wierd wires, re wiring in the sun roof correctly. I am at my last two codes. 1. Being a engine the typical O2
2. Is learning the airbag module. The sob just keeps locking out... I put in a 2009 BCM in a 2008 and it cleared all my other codes I was hoping for but then caused this issue and I have yet to figure that out. I fallowed what I thought was the reprogramming procedure but second guessing it. Do you know the book procedure and if so chim in .

Now to the real question of this thread. As I was working through these repairs I found many parts are discontinued and can be hard to find. Tired of handing over fist full of $$$ to my local junk yard. I decided to buy a donor car from local tow shop. My only question is the donor car is a fwd 2009 3.6l XR. Vue
my road car is a 2008 AWD 3.6l XR. Will a 09 fwd transmission work in a 08 AWD car? And will the engine swap to? Do I need to swap module and reprogram for that vin.
my plan is to gut the 09 donor and build it's engine and transmission to put into my 08' . Just want to make sure they are compatible before I dump $$ into them...
also has anyone turbo charged there 3.6l and if so what programming did you need to do and how did you beef up your transmission and motor?
getting my feet wet into custom builds of 3.6l let me hear what you did! Peace out

I know that the bcm and the air bag module look for the same VIN. This does not mean that they have to match the vin on the car, just each other. I have replaced a BCM and matching air bag module and did the security relearn and the works in the L series. If you buy the parts car and swap modules and do a relearn I would bet the car will live.
2008/9 are a long way from 2000/2005 electronically, so it may not work.

Ok i got a parts car now... mighr have to try that.
going to spend anther $40 to try reprogramming/unlocking/learning it again. Was told I might want to reprogram the ecm, bcm, tranny, and then go for the retraining of the seat/airbag sensor. That would leave me with the ability to reprogram a few more times if that doesn't work. There's acdelco tech line I think I'll try if this doesn't work. My parts car is a 2009 so I have a complete set of 09 module to transfer over if that's an issue. All the source I read says the Module can be interchange between 2008-2010. Just a wierd deal. Fairly new to saturn programming so there's a learning curve 😉... thanks for your help

What shape is the donor car in? If it's drivable, then maybe you'd be better off with it, after all it has awd vs fwd.

It's driveable but no title. She's a donor.
