2008 Saturn Vue issues
Hello. I wanted to ask for some insight/advice into the severity and potential cost of some problems I am having with my Saturn Vue to see whether or not they are worth addressing, given the car's age and mileage. I am original owner of a 2008 saturn vue 2.4/ l4 with 100,000 miles, routinely maintained, and with no major issues, repairs, or accidents. About 6 months ago, I began experiencing issues with poor/sluggish acceleration, rough idling, and stalling/loss of power at slow speeds and when stopped. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the MAP sensor which seemed to address the problem. Then, after a couple of months, the same problem started up again. I took it to a different mechanic who also diagnosed it as faulty MAP sensor so I had it replaced a second time. Again, all was fine for another few months until yesterday on my drive home from work when the car was struggling to accelerate and stalled out at every stoplight. I planned to take it back to the shop this morning but it wouldn't even start and just tries to turn over. I am now also getting codes P0014 and U0109- lost communication with fuel pump which perhaps may or may not be related to the original problem? Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue or could provide some advice on the issue. Thanks so much!
Search 2008 Saturn Vue P0014. This may be one of the variable valve timing solenoids failing from oil debris clogging the valve or lack of oil changes.
Fuel pressure can be checked via the fuel test valve. A fuel pressure gauge, free loaner from Autozone, connects to the test valve. After connecting to test valve, turn on ignition and observe fuel pressure.
