2005 is a unique year for the Vue
No the transmission of an 06 or any other year will not work with the 05. In 05 GM made a deal with Honda for the engine and transmission in the view for some industrial generators making the 05 basically a Honda CRV in a Saturn costume.

Your input applies only to the V6 versions.
OP has a 2.2 not a V6.
My Recommendation is to take your vin to a Chevy dealer and find out which of the multiple auo tranny's offered that year in the Vue is in your Vue. Then they should be able to tell you what will fit and what will not. Stay away from the CVT
