Default 07 Saturn Vue. This is my second Saturn. I am having issues with the heating syste

My Vue has the 3.6l toyata motor. I am getting heat on the lower two settings and in all positions. But little to no heat on the upper two settings. Any ideas would help as it is getting cold up here in Maine.

Welcome to the forum. Are you asking about the fan speed or the temp settings? Does the fan increase in speed as you request it or does the fan quit on the upper speed settings? I think you will find that your Vue is Honda powered not Toyota.

Hello, all. New member here with a new-to-me '05 Vue. I was browsing the forum and saw this post.

Although I don't know how the Vue is wired, there usually is a relay for high-speed fan settings, if that's what's not working. I would look at that, as that would be inexpensive and easy to replace. Anything else, and I'm afraid I'm not knowledgeable about these vehicles-particularly GM ones. Good Luck.

I agree that it COULD be a resistor, but the first place I'd look is at the plug on the blower motor. I had the same problem in my Forte and it was a melted plug connection at the blower motor. NOT the damned resistor that I checked first.

There is plenty of air flow on the higher two settings, but no heating or cooling. The lower two setting produce heat and cold but just blows ambient air temp on the upper two settings.

If the temp gauge reads in the middle you might need to flush the heater core. If the temp gauge reads low and the car takes a long time to get there replace the thermostat.

So with the air conditioning on, there is no cooling on the higher fan settings? And the air conditioning provides cold air on the lower settings? Is that correct? Or is it simply that on the higher two fan settings, you just don't get heat? I know you have mentioned the situation several times, but your description varies just enough I want to be sure we all understand. For example when you say it doesn't cool oh, it's not clear if that means with the air conditioner running or just ambient air being flicked into the car and somewhat of temperature controlled. If it is the latter, it could have something to do with a blend door not positioning properly.

It is the higher two settings for both heating and cooling. The blower itself works fine. There is plenty of air being pushed through. It won't produce any heating or cooling on those two upper settings. I am going to check the upper relay first on my next day off.

I'm not sure what is going on. I'd follow derfs suggestion of flushing the heater core and then see what happens. If not, then maybe the frigging blend door isn't working properly at the higher settings????
