My 06 vue 3.5 did not come with fog lights so I bought some aftermarket lights. While installing them I found a connector not being used for anything and plugged into a dead spot that looked like it was in the perfect place for fog lights.
the connectors did not match the aftermarket fog lights.
There was no power coming from the connectors and i wired the connectors to the bulb just in case, and turned the car on and the lights on with no luck.
Also, there are no switches or blank spots to put in a fog light switch in the dashboard.
what are these used for? Can anyone help?
I looked online with no answers. What the heck is this thing? And why is there no info on it? This was plugged in to it. This bulb came with the aftermarket fog light kit. It does not fit the connector i found under the car.
The connector in the first picture looks like a daytime running light resistor.
The man is right. I have two resistors in my Ion for the DRLs (one for each side). If you don't have DRLs, or they have been removed/disabled, these resistors can provide no power. See this YouTube video - you'll see exactly what you photographed.
