Default Won't start when hot

My 97 SL2 runs fine but after driving for 15+ minutes it will not re-start. The lights all come on and but no solenoid click. Let it cool down for a couple hours and it starts fine. Is it the starter or does this car have a temp switch? By the way, when I say hot I just mean normal driving temp it is not overheating. Thanks.

Your description would suggest a defective solenoid/starterI got a suggestion on how to test this theory, but you need access to a big set of ramps, or a hoist .....

OA, are you referring to the infamous hammer test?

I prefer to describe it as an "applied version" of Newton's Laws of Motion

Your sophistication never ceases to amaze me -- -that's why we love to have ya round here -- you add class to an otherwise chaotic social scene
