Will 96 SL1 rims fit on a 96 SL2?

My girlfriend''s kids have 2 Saturns.A 96 SL1 and a 96 SL2. The SL1has a bad head. We want to take the steel rims/tires off the SL1 and put them on the SL2. My girlfriend says her son tried but the steel rims from the SL1 will not fit on the rear of the SL2. I find it hard to believe these will not interchange. Anyone know? I was not there when he tried.

Thanks,

Rodney

Yes, all Saturn S-Series wheels from 1991-2002 are interchangable between all models. But if the SL2 has aluminum wheels. they''re better than the 14" steel ones. I think your girlfriends kid just doesnt want an ugly set of wheels on his car.

Son is going into the Air Force. Daughter will use the car (SL2) for college. She could care less what it looks like. Only that it runs and is dependable.

Two of the aluminum rims on the SL2 leak air plus the tires are mostly worn. The steel rims on the SL1 do not leak air and the tires are very new. Since we have to basically junk the SL1 because of a cracked head we want to put the good non leaky rims/tires on the SL2. Too much to take all the tires off, clean the aluminum rims etc and swap all the tires/balance. Not worth it. The SL2 will be worth less when we sell but by then it will not be worth much anyway.

Too bad you''''re not closer. I''''d buy it and fix it. Non running Saturns arent worth anything and they''re cheap and easy to fix.

Usually a win, win situation for me.Edited by: Low Saturn
