I recently replaced the upper engine motor mount and the lower transmission mount, trying to fix some difficult shifting. I put in some that I bought at Advanced Auto. So now, the sticky shifting is back already. I want parts that work!!! who has the best motor mounts?? I will be replacing half-shafts soon, so tell me the best half-shafts to buy. I plan to keep the car for a long time. it only has 170,000, and is just getting broke in.

Shifting problems could be due to the shifter cables going bad. If the pedel is acting strange just may be the slave assem. Both items you''ll want to get from your SATURN dealer.

Elaborate on "difficult shifting" Like difficult to shift at the shifter or difficult to shift because the clutch doesnt apply?

sticky shifting is difficutly getting into the next gear. I have tried "double clutching", but no real benefit. the transmission just does not want to go into gear, and I do not want to use too much force, and then damage the cables. I change the transmission fluid every 50K, last changed 30K ago, using red line synthetic ATF. I had replaced the shift cables 2 years ago. I try to shift this very gently, there is no abuse or banging the gears.

How far do you have to push the pedal down to engage the clutch?

clutch travel and engagement are unchanged, and the engagement is smooth, travel is good.
