Default Sunroof issue

Hello again, I am another problem I'm hoping someone here has some experience with.
I have a sunroof on my 94 SL2 which is not working at the moment and I have already replaced the only fuse I can find on the passenger side fuse box which says sun. I am now wondering if there is a relay or something else that might be bad I can check/replace or should look directly at the motor and/or switch?

Been there done that. It rates right up there with root canal and water torture. Almost anything that has to do with the sun roof requires removal of the head liner to get anything that needs to be serviced. This can be problimatic as everything inside a Saturn is plastic and if the plastic has been damged by time and heat it is brittle and will crack and break. The sun roof bits and pieces are plastic and prone to failure. The motor is unreliable and problem prone. The one thing that I have not had problem with is the switch in the overhead console breaking but the two map light switchs have failed repeatedly. I gave up trying to fix mine and gave it to the dealer to fix and got hosed on that but I liked the car enough to spend it once to get it done. And I spent a ton.
No problem now, no dealer, no parts. If it quits on me again I will bondo it in and refinish the roof and then repaint the car and sell it.

So I have been looking for days to find a new motor for my sunroof and I have had no luck so far. Anyone know where I can find parts for this car on-line?

Thanks for the info. I gave them a call and he was telling me that it's almost always the relay on the 91 - 95 sl's. I got another motor form a 98 just to test it and I got the motor to spin when I push close. however when I push open it does nothing. I feel the relay clicking when I touch the casing and push open/close but still nothing from the motor. Knowing this what would you try to replace?

Also when I spoke to the sunroof doctor, they said that they did not carry the relay any more. Any suggestions for this part?

What I would do because that is the way I think is to take a volt meter and measure voltage out of the relay to see if it is comming out. This would then say if there is voltage, the motor is bad. If there is no voltage the relay is bad.
What you are asking me to do is guess.
Yo're in a better postion to to that than me.
But, check the following URL, it may be the right relay, check it out. If you can't get it to come up right get back to me.
Also there is some indication that a late 90's/ early 2000 Mustang used the same part. For the same reason. Mustang parts if true, might be easier to find. See what you can find on that.

I need an A/C drive belt back side idler pulley for a 1970 390 Javelin. There is a real good chance we will find these parts about the same time.

Well that definitely is not the right relay. the relay has a bunch of cables and connectors hanging off of it. It connects directly to the motor, and the switch for the sunroof.

Wink And this brings up the latest relay update info!

A visit to the newly established Saturn Parts department at the local Chevy dealership and a look at the Saturn parts book gets the following information. The relay with assorted wiring and connectiors looking for all the world like a berserk octupus is known as the Module, Part Number 21058646. Discontinued and no longer available.
However, also identified as part of the module is the RELAY identified as part number 21058646 which is still available at about $70.00 ish. With out a clear picture of what these items look like it implies that the RELAY is removable and replacable with in the Module Assemblly. The thingy with all the wires etc.
Also these part numbers are good for Saturn Applications between 1992 through 1995 for the Sun Roof controls.
If this is true, and the parts book seems to indicate that it is, then the module assembly you are looking at in your car should have a replaceable relay in it that may look like the relay in the URL given earlier to point out a replacement relay.
That is the best information I can come up with at the moment.
