I have a 2001 SL2 and the electric door locks all seem to be very sluggish, as in not wanting to lock. Ithink it's strange that they all have the same problem.

When I push the lock button on the inside of the drivers door and all of the locks make motor type noise but don't actually move the lock buttons to the locked position. If I lock them manually the unlock feature seems to work ok. Is this a known problem, and if so is there a fix? I have not taken anything apart yet so I don't know the conditions inside the doors.

You're right that all four door locks act the same so I would remove the main door LOCK/UNLOCK switch and examine it closely for debris or corrosion that would affect power to all the lock solenoids. Either this switch is worn, pitted, or oxidizedfrom so many years of use or the other common tie-in would be the grounds for each solenoid. I'd pop the main switch and disassemble it if possible to examine the contacts, replacethe switchif necessary.
