finished workin on my sl2 new water pump, res, and ects and cutleads well befor i left the my work fan was working great never got over the first bar... ac on it work gota recharge the ac tho

 

but in trafic on the way home it seemed to be running a little warmer than befor.. i got home and let it run.. middle line and fans not kicking on but turns on when i hit the ac it runs...

 

so really what my question is when temp wise is the fan supost to kick on

 

Fan will not kick in tempwise until about the 3/4 tick on the dash temp gauge -- this freaks alot of people out but remember the gauge is not linear. It should cool down to a bit below 1/2 tick, which is normal position for most S cars.

With the temp gauge readings you're seeing, assuming the ECTS you put in is the correct part and is good and the dash guage is not defective, it sounds like your thermostat may be stuck open. Can you get any heat out of the climate control system?

I know you just put in a new water pump, but below the 1st tick on an S car engine is nowhere near normal operting temperature....

 

well on my way to work this morning it was just above the first mark and i get great heat. got the ects and lead right from saturn, and a kind of suprised that it doesnt run warmer than that

 

becuase there is no air damn.... another thing i will be replacing

 

all is well on my way to the hosp it hit the third bar and fan kicked on...

 

alrighty then ---thats a good sign
