Default SL1 weak spark off one coil

3 years ago I parked my SL1 for a month and after I tried starting it it had a misfire. I replaced the coil and it still misfired.

It sat for 3 years while I started a new job and had a couple kids and this year I replaced the ICM and one faulty injector.

I'm now experiencing a weak spark off the replaced (3 years ago) coil, the problem follows the coil creating wet sparkplugs wherever the coil goes.

The secondary resistance off the old coil is 8k and the "new" replaced coil is 12k.

I am reluctant to re-replace the "new" coil. Any ideas?

Lessee here --

1) Weak spark - problem moves with the coil ...

2) Secondary coil resistance 50% higher than others ...

3) All connections rechecked and found tight?

I'd stop by the GM dealership, and measure a NIB (new-in-the-box) coil.

The result of that measurement would guide my next move......

Default All fixed

Well I replaced the coil with one with an 8,000 ohm secondary resistance AND replaced the coolant temperature sensor at the same time.

Runs like it did 3 years ago when I parked it.

I bought the first replacement coil from AutoZone, it looked very different than the original and did not work well. They still sell that one. My new replacement coil was purchased at NAPA and looks more like the original.

I only replaced one coil. It may have worked fine if the two coils had a similar secondary resistance, but with one at 8,000 ohms and the other at 12,000 they did not work well together. I now have an old coil and a new coil both with 8,000 ohms secondary resistance.

Thanks all.
