The guys andI are fans of the saturn dohc engines andI realized my 1970 opel could benefit from a saturn engine. I would aquire morehorse power and torqueand fuel economy in the process. Can't go wrong there! but alocal saturn guy saidI would have a hard time getting the engine to run outside of a saturn becauseI wouldn't be using the factory dash cluster, and I wouldn't have the stock transmission.

Is what he is saying true? more importantly is there a way to get it torun? please excuse my ignorance on the topic.I would really like a saturn engine in the opel and i'd take pictures of the progress with the help of you. The saturn issiting in the driveway

I too have been entertaining the idea of retrofitting either a honda or saturn engine into an old corvair I have. I'm sure there would be hardships no matter what type of car you would try to fit a non original engine into...ie motor mount fabrications, fuel pumps, ecm and associated wiring, shifter or adaptor plate for using existing trans. The list is really quite long as to what one would have to do for a transplant of that order. I think i've just talked myself out of it.....

I've seen Saturn twincam engines used in sandrails, airplanes, even in a Suzuki Samarui. So I'm sure it could be done.
