Just bought a nice 1999 SL1 for my son, paint is pretty good except for the trim around the windows which has experienced significant sun fade.


I would like to repaint this, but I am not sure haow to remove the trim without damaging it. Does it sanp on? Is it glued?


Should I just mask it off and sand and paint it on the car?Edited by: sw2cam

No, unfortunately maybe I should have been clearer. It is the trim that goes above the doors from the front window, across the top, to the back of the door.


But, GREAT SITE though. I bookmarked it for the future.
