I have a 2001 SL2 and it's a great car that's never had any issues. Recently I have been experiencing a problem when putting the car is reverse. When you first start the car up at anytime of the day reverse works just fine. But after the car warms up you have no reverse. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions that I could try or is this something major that's going to cost alot of money to repair. Thanks for any help offered.

 

Sorry - I must have missed it, but is your transmission Manual or Automatic?
How many miles on the car?
When was the last transmission service done?

 

It's an automatic with 113,000 miles on it. I've only owned it 6 months so I don't know if the tranny was ever serviced.

 

I'd have a transmission flush/service performed at the first opportunity ...

 

Do you think it's possible it won't be something major and just needs the transmission flush service? Have you had this problem?

 

I, personally, have not experienced this type of failure in any of my automatic Saturns. However, I was most circumspect on following the service recommendations for the transmission ....
