I was right... broken piston rod which put a hole in the engine.

I was quoted $3000 for the engine + labor. it's not worth it.

So another question, how to sell/get rid of a car with no engine? It's such a great car body-wise. It seems such a shame that it would go to a junk yard for parts.

I'm about 4 hours from you and my car won't make the drive, hahaha.
