Default Please reccommend a manual !

Hey everyone,

I have a '99 SL2 (DOHC-1.9),could someone reccommend a manual , I have a Haynes but there seems to be some problems.I noticed how it explained replacing a valve cover gasket and I know their procedure is wrong after looking at my valve cover.Any suggestions.

Thanks ....

im sorry but IMO if you cant replace the valven cover gasket with out a manual you prolly shouldn't be working on your own car but i understand time is tough do what ya gotta do...

problem is that most of the chiltons and haynes available now are summary books for zillions of models. If you're lucky, you might find a 99-02 book that was printed before the end of the S cars...

best manuals are the Saturn Shop Manuals but it's gonna cost ya

I've changed quite a few valve cover gaskets,but they were a lot more straight forward than the Saturn. The manual that I have is the 99-02,but the pic of the valve cover has completely different type bolts,and yes I'm sure it's a DOHC,that's what it says on the valve cover.There seems to be some confusion over the torque specs, the actual R & R is not a problem.But I have looked at a couple of manuals and they had different torque specs .I'll look around for a Chiltons .
Thanks...

Thanks ,that's what I've done on other vehicles,I was just afraid of overtightening,
I'm used to the old cast iron type heads ,not these new aluminun ones.
Thanks again...

overtightening = leakage

determine the correct torque specs and use them
