New member looking for parts help
I own as very clean 2000 SL-2 4-door. It was my late wife's car and has only 173,000 miles and runs very nicely. Last week the r/f door got nailed very badly. The body shop tells me a new door will be about $750 and very difficult to find. I was hoping somebody could give me some parts interchangeabilty info (what years will fit) so maybe I can do some scrounging on my own. It has non-power windows if that makes a difference. By the way I am a new member. HI from the California central valley.

I believe 2000 to 2002 should fit. Might be 99 too. Let me go check.
Is the door frame damaged or just the outer panel?
If the door frame itself is damaged, depending on how it got hit, it may have bent the part of the frame where the door closes, so you can get a new door but it may not close properly. Is the quote from a body shop?
And the Blue book value is indeed between $700 and a thousand dollars for your car. Mine are worth even less.

Indeed looks like 2000 to 2002. The innards come separately so they will be just as inaccessible if you tried to find them separately. Pulling one from the yard along with the hinges is your best bet. Also make sure to striker plate on your vehicle is Not Bent.
Come armed with torx bit soçkets and a whole bunch of pb blaster and just let it soak soak soak or you will twist off your bits and strip out the bolts.

Door skin is totally trashed. Auto locks no longer work on that door. When you unlock the door and open it it bounces open slightly which it never used to do and you can feel the latch loop and latch on the door are now slightly misaligned when you close it. It does close and latch without unreasonable effort. It looks like the A-pillar was totally missed. I am hoping that the door has been tweaked enough that that is what is causing the misalignment and a "new" door will fix the problem. I will attempt to locate a 200-2002 (thanks for the info guys) at some of the local pick-and-pulls and see what I can find. THANKS HUGELY FOR THE KIND ASSIST.
