Default Last trip

Well I just got home from vacation. My son and I visited Big Bend NP, Petrified Forest NP, Joshua Tree NP, Hurst Castle, Big Sur, Yosemite NP, Kolab Canyon and Zion NP, Monument Valley, 4 Corners, and Mesa Verde NP. 19 days, 6712 miles, 163.87 gallons of gas and 5 quarts of oil. The Saturn now has 274,787 miles on it.

I blew a wheel bearing just as I was leaving Mesa Verde, I think. It is making the characteristic noise, but it got me home. I think it is time to retire it, I got my monies worth out of it. I'd like to sell it to a needy college student who needs cheap transportation, I'll replace the wheel bearings for them. I do not want to sell it cheap to someone who will just flip it for a profit.

All together, not bad for a $10,686 investment when I bought it new. Original clutch by the way.

If KBB didn't list the private sale value at $1205, it would be good for a LeMons race. Even the trade in value is above their limits $501.

That sounds like a GREAT trip, Kieth! I would say that it definitely sounds like you got many times your original investment's worth out of that car...it will certainly make a great run-around for a kid getting started...

If you were closer, I would trade you for the car... I'm tired of looking at my Suzuki, lol

R&R wheel bearings and hubs, no more propeller noise and no more shaking of the steering wheel when applying brakes above 50 mph (tested to 75 mph).
