Default Key on 'dings'.. disable?

Hey guys, just joined here. Had my 00' Saturn SL1 for a few months now and nothing bugs me more than the dings when the key is 'on' with the doors open. I cant figure out how to disable it, has anyone ever done this before?

?? Isn't there a fuse on the Instrument Panel Fuse Block that says "CHIME" ?? One might remove the fuse and see what transpires....

Usually there is other stuff that shares that same fuse (is on the same circuit), so you may need to leave it in....

Solution A: Keep the doors closed when the key is on
Solution B: Keep the key out when the doors are open
Solution C: Listen for the source of the dinging, rip apart the dash to locate the ding-maker and "disable" it
Solution D: Lock keys in car, then curse the fact that your disabled chime didn't remind you the keys were in the ignition
Solution E: Lock yourself in car without the keys-- live a tranquil life free of dinging and social interaction caused by opening the doors to allow other human beings into the car

PS: M Go Blue!!

can always rip the door switch out and stick the wires together only prob with that is the dome light wont come on when door open would have to be turned on manually
