Ignition Problem?
Hello everyone,I have been having a problem for the past couple of months with my 98 Saturn SL2. Briefly, what happens is that I will park the car, or leave it sitting somewhere, whatever, and come back later on to get in and go. Well, I go to start the car and I turn the key to the ignition point and nothing happens. I thought it was a fuse problem, but after checking ALL fuses MULTIPLE times, nothing is wrong with them. Now, the wierd part is with this problem, the remote door locks DO NOT work and the radio does not come on. I once again thought this was a fuse problem with a circuit or two, but nothing. Now a friend of mine said that it may be a grounding issue, but I checked the ground coming off of the interior fuse block and it is locked to the frame tightly. Now after a while the car will start back up, usually, sometimes it still stays 'dead' so to say. Now, also another friend mentioned to me today that it may be a Saturn Security issue, which I guess would make sense with the remote locks, iginition and radio issues. Now, just to elaborate, the security system I have is simple, just the panic button on my remote and when you press the LOCK button twice, and the car beeps, if you unlock one door and open it, the horn starts blaring. Could this be the issue? Anyone have ANY ideas? I am desperate, I already kicked my car out of frustration.

Kicking your car is always the best thing to do.
PS: The next post with a tracker incerted will get the IP, e-mail, and user name blocked. This is not a question, this is not open to debate. This a fact. Check your posts once you click update post. If you see text you did not type open your post and edit it out. If I find it I'll be doing as stated above.

FOUND IT!!! sw2cam listen up!!!
If you go to your Account settings, under the settings called : Enable the WYSIWYG post editor =
CLICK NO!!!!End user HTML editor Java script has a bug in it to add the script depending on your website visits.
Having Google as a default search engine, and integrating Google tools and web browser tool bars can cause this code to be added to your Java Editing dll's,
I am not sure to the pinpoint why? or witch one, I am sure WYSIWYG post editor has the bug. Now please
SYSTEM ADMINS Check and make sure your WYSIWYG post editor is CLEAN and free from this bug. Or stop threatning to Bounce and bump people off the forum.
Gotta love it, I am going to make sure my servers at work are NOT hosting this code.

Why not instruct people to turn OFF WYSIWYG instead?
I have posted the instructions under the "Technical" arena in your front page called "google-analytics cure"
Copy the address of the post and post that as an automatic letter of construction instead of your automatic letter of destruction and humiliation.
Tell them to go here

And follow the instructions, problem solved.

Seen similar problem on my 97 SL2.
I had to clean all the electrical grounds in the engine compartment before the system would function correctly again. You'll find them next to the battery, on the engine block and underneath the air filter plastic.
My vehicle spent 7 years in Chicago, & corrosion on all the grounds.

This sounds like the classic "corrosion in the battery cable" problem. Its common for corrosion to get inside the positive battery cable and terminal end and cause the problems you describe. Do you an AC Delco battery? AC Delco's installed at the factory at the time of production and then used as replacements had a problem with the positive terminal developing a leak and getting battery acid inside the positive cable.
